Yayoi Kusama at the Whitney
Yayoi Kusama may not be a household name in the US but she is just as famous an artist as any of her POP contemporaries. She is the Japanese equivalent of our Andy Warhol and she has a major exhibition up at the Whitney Museum in NY as well as an installation in the Louis Vuitton store in London. Born in 1929, the eighty-three year Japanese artist and writer is an influential Pop artist and holds the record for a single sale of a female artist. She has worked in a variety of mediums, including Painting, collage, sculpture, performance art and installations like the the Louis Vuitton store.
