Total Darkness

Total Darkness

Light pollution keeps most people from getting a glimpse of the stars. It’s probably a rarity that anyone gets an unfettered look at the heavens. Russian photographer Daniel Kordan traveled to the Altiplano region of west-central South America to one of the few places on earth with near total darkness. Using an astrophotography camera he set up at 12,300 feet on the Uyuni salt flat.

Kordan’s next stop is to the Faroe Islands and Greenland to lead several photography workshops and explorations. You can see more of his photography on Instagram and Facebook.
