Sacred Spaces

Sacred Spaces

Growing up in rural Pennsylvania there were dozens and dozens of abandoned churches. Some rotted in place, some were taken apart and the wood and windows recycled and a few were turned into houses. Taking an empty, formally sacred space, usually made with hardwoods, stained glass and large open spaces and turning into a home is a dream for architects and has always been a fantasy for me. Here are some stunning examples of such converted spaces. Via MyModernMet
