Paintings by Michelle Manley

Not sure where Michelle Manley is from but she has certainly taken cues from the likes of Thomas Hart Benton and other Mid-western painters.

“My landscape paintings explore the sublime aspects of nature’s processes and its extreme shifts. Images of environmental change, for example, can at times provoke a range of conflicting emotions from anxiety and denial to aesthetic admiration. Imagining how the futures of civilization and the natural world will be linked, these emotional responses influence my expression. Ultimately, there is a desire behind my depictions for the broader consideration of the relationship between both forces.” ¬†Michelle Manley
