Multicultural Advertising Intern Program
Earlier this month the 4A’s honored the 2012 graduating interns who have taken part in the Multicultural Advertising Intern Program or (MAIP). The symposium, The Face of Talent 2012, was attended by media and advertising executives. Begun in 1973, the MAIP helps minority candidates to secure coveted internships at agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather, Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, BBH, Gold Partners, Horizon Media, McCann NY, MRM, Leo Burnett, JWT, Team Detroit, Silver Partners.
Interns work at 10-week paid summer internships in areas such as digital/Interactive design, project management, copywriting, art direction, broadcast/print production, media planning/buying, public relations. To become part of this program, “Students are eligible to be selected as MAIP participants if they are: American Indian/Native American, Asian/Asian American or Pacific Islander, Black/African American, Latino/Hispanic, Multiracial or Multiethnic (e.g. Black and Hispanic). They must currently be a college junior, senior or graduate student, earning a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4 and demonstrate a serious commitment to pursuing a career in advertising, regardless of their chosen major.” How to apply.
