Iranian-born photojournalist Majid Saoedi has entire portfolio of black and white shots he took while covering conflicts in the Middle East. In Afghanistan, he was one of the only a few foreign photojournalists to embed with the Afghan troops. Life in War, which won the FotoEvidence Book Award was published in 2014.
“Street photography is like painting, sculpture and other fine arts,” he said. “A good photograph doesn’t suddenly come out…an artist is not simply a machine for producing good pictures.”
