Bill Cunningham’s New York
Sartorial gentleman, and consummate Knickerbocker,Bill Cunningham has worked as a roving fashion photographer for the NYT for over 40 years. He rides a beat up old Schwinn bike and still uses a trusty film camera. He’s from a decidedly pre-digital generation. Always humble and charming, Cunningham prowls the city looking for the lastest street fashions and trends. He has a regular readership of NY’s socialite class as well as admirers across the globe. As Anna Wintour says in the documentary, Bill Cunnigham, New York (available on Netflix streaming). “Bill not only spots the trends, he creates the trends. He has a huge impact on the world of fashion.” The documentary is as charming and wonderful as the man himself.
